The aim of these competitions is to promote reading and literacy and they are an effective way to encourage children to enjoy reading. A scheme to promote books for young people

One of the Welsh Books Council’s promotional schemes is a scheme to promote the reading of Welsh books amongst young people.

A colourful promotional brochure was produced, listing suitable books. In addition, Arad Goch, a Theatre in Education company, visited schools to perform extracts from the books. The schools that took part were:
