DESIGN

The Design Department offers a design service to publishers in Wales. Every year some 150 different titles are dealt with by the Department.

The Department offers the following services:

• Designing book covers
  
  
• Designing complete books, from cover to cover
  
  
• Providing visual material, such as photographs and illustrations, for books.
  

The Senior Design Officer and the Officer are both experienced graphic designers. Although they themselves undertake much of the Department’s work, they also benefit from the services of between 30 and 40 freelance designers, illustrators and photographers, utilising their expertise in various fields.

The Department is responsible for designing all the Welsh Books Council’s internal publications, in addition to designing and maintaining the Council’s website.
