HOLIDAY WINNER
A lady from Caernarfon can now look forward to a free
holiday, after winning a competition organised by the
Welsh Books Council. The competition was featured in the
Christmas book supplement, Gwledd y Nadolig, which was
widely circulated through the Welsh-language community
newspapers, the papurau bro.
The lucky winner was Esyllt Owen of Groeslon, Caernarfon.
The prize was once again sponsored by the Caernarfon-based
travel company, Silver Star.
There was an excellent response to the competition, with
hundreds of entries arriving from all over Wales, following
the distribution of 80,000 copies of the supplement. The
supplement is well-established, said D. Philip Davies,
Head of Marketing at the Books Council, and we are
extremely pleased to have the support of publishers, booksellers,
the papurau bro and our sponsors in this effort to promote
books from Wales.
